What Size Wrench for Plumbing

You’ll need a wrench to change the size of your plumbing. If you’re changing the size of the pipe, you’ll need a wrench that fits that size of pipe. If you’re changing the size of your rv plumbing, you’ll need a wrench that fits that size of rv plumbing.

First things first, a lot of people don’t realize that different types of pipes are made with different sized threads. If you have a pipe that is too small or too big, it won’t fit properly and won’t work as well as it should (or at all). So before you start shopping, make sure you know what size pipe you need.

Pipe size is measured in two dimensions: outside diameter (OD) and inside diameter (ID). The ID is the measurement of the pipe’s width, while the OD is the measurement of its height.

The typical standard sizes for pipe are based on the US customary system, which uses units of 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ for OD and 1/8″, 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ for ID. This means that a 3/4″ OD has an ID of 3/4″ as well, but an 8″ OD has an ID of 8″.

If you’re not sure where to start, we’ve got some recommendations:

what size pipe for pool plumbing

-For pool plumbing, look for 1/2″ copper pipe (though this can vary depending on the type of pool)

what size is rv plumbing

-For RV plumbing, look for 1/2″ copper pipe or 3/4″ PVC pipe (depending on your trailer)

-For all other projects, look for 3/4″ copper or PVC pipe

You can also get metric sizes; these use millimeters for both measurements—the same way that you might measure your height or weight. Most PVC plumbing supplies will use metric measurements because those are easier to find at hardware stores.
